Desireé Gallagher-Frazier, Psy.D



Desireé Gallagher-Fraizer, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at The Children’s Assessment Center (CAC) in Houston and her postdoctoral fellowship at the Moore Counseling Center in Oklahoma. After working in Houston for two years, she has relocated to the Dallas area to be closer to family.

During her graduate clinical training experiences, Dr. Gallagher-Frazier has developed a specialization in working with traumatized children and adolescents, including childhood abuse, witnessing domestic violence, death of a family member, and school violence.

Dr. Gallagher-Fraizer has presented on topics, such as promoting sex education in families and parental alienation syndrome.

She also has clinical experience with a broad range of childhood disorders and problems, including depression, separation anxiety, ADHD, oppositional defiant behaviors, conduct disorder, trichotillomania, enuresis, and encopresis.

Dr. Gallagher-Fraizer primarily works with young children and adolescents and their families. She believes that positive interaction styles and effective communication increases emotional functioning and decreases behavioral problems in children and their families.

Dr. Gallagher-Fraizer provides psychological evaluations and individual and family therapy focused on identifying the needs of the client. Her approach is primarily eclectic, providing therapeutic techniques based upon the presenting problem, clients’ strengths, and evidenced-based practices. During the initial session Dr. Gallagher-Fraizer will obtain a thorough history related to the family, the individual’s development, and academic and social functioning. Additionally, treatment options will be discussed and a treatment plan will be developed collaboratively with the child and their parents.
